Long before I knew anything about The Secret and I was living at my mothers after my separation from my husband. Me and the kids shared a room and bed in my mothers tiny house, not the greatest time of my life but it could have been worse. All I wanted was my own place again, privacy, my own stuff ect. ect. We used to get all these catalogs in the mail with home decorations, furniture things of the like. And I would ponder over how I would actually decorate my own place when I got it. Then one day; more then likely just out of pure boredom I decided to create a note book of everything I wanted for my new place. I had a section for each room and wrote down details of the colors and themes I would like to use. I also started cutting out pictures from the catalogs we got. I had the dishes, silverware, linen, couches, lamps, paintings, everything you could imagine for a new home picked out. I had that book filled to the max!!! Nothing was to good or expensive or out of reach I could have anything I wanted all I had to do is cut it out and put it in the book!! i loved looking through it and showing it off even. And yes I got a few laughs and keep dreaming. But I didn't care I kept it in my mind that when I did get a place i would have all that stuff and I would have the best house out of anyone I knew. Well I packed the book away at some point. I eventually did get my own place, a cute lil place if I do say. I came across the notebook, looked through it and to my utter surprise I had A LOT of the stuff that was cut out and pasted in it!! Did I get everything? No, I didn't end up with all of it (like the 100,000$ crystal chandelier LOL) BUT I did get and still have and I am still getting a lot of the stuff I put in my book.
Your vision board or book or whatever you want to put it on, doesn't have to be some elaborate crafty masterpiece. If you choose to share it wonderful, but you don't have to do that either. If you have been wanting a new car, maybe one in particular, find a picture of it, post it up somewhere you will look at it often and every time you look at it, imagine yourself driving away in it! See yourself signing the papers, hell close your eyes and pretend to drive it, motor sounds and all. The more real you make it for yourself and the more you believe it, the easier and faster it will come!
At Christmas time I encourage my kids to go through all the sale ads and circle things they want, I am sure most f us did this as kids. Its the same concept seeing what we want and doing something about getting it. In The Secret they give an example of a young boy cutting out a picture of a new bike he wants and making a cute lil page and pinning it up in his room, and how he ends up with the bike. My point is that this is so easy a kid can do it! LOL and its actually a good way to help introduce The Secret into our kids lives. After all they do learn from example.
The magic and power to manifest our dreams is with in us all, its our gift to use and use and use, it is indispensable, you can never run out so take it and run with it baby!!!!

The smell of a new baby
Morning cup of joe
warm blanket to cuddle
my child saying I love you
the cat purring
finding my bra (lol)
I woke up on time and not rushed
listening to your kids laugh in their sleep
your fav song on the radio
catching all the green lights on your way to work
going to the movies
smell of rain
The list can go on and on and on and on
When you are grateful for things that you enjoy in your life, the more of it you will have, the more you have in your life the more you will enjoy it, the more you enjoy your life the more things you will have to be thankful for, I know vicious circle isn't it :) LOL And when its all said and done you can look back say , what a ride THANK YOU!!!!

Here is a lil story i received as an email I thought I would share, I have posted it on other places and people seem to like it.
READ THIS, LET IT REALLY SINK IN - THEN CHOOSE ...
John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, 'If I were any better, I would be twins!' He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, 'I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time How do you do it?' He replied, 'Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose to be in a bad mood I choose to be in a good mood.' Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life. 'Yeah, right, it's not that easy,' I protested. 'Yes, it is,' he said. 'Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life.' I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back I saw him about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, 'If I were any better, I'd be twins..Wanna see my scars?' I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place. 'The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter,' he replied. 'Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live.' 'Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?' I asked He continued, '..the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the20faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action.' 'What did you do?' I asked. 'Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,' said John. 'She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity'' Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.' He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything .
There are alot of things that have stuck out from the teachings that I use to remind myself when things are looking gloomy.
But first I want to focus on what the law of attraction actually is .
The phrase Law of Attraction, although used widely by New Thought writers, has a variety of definitions. Turn-of-the-century references conceptualized the law of attraction as relating to physical structure and to how matter develops. A more modern consensus among New Thought thinkers is that the Law of Attraction says people's thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives, whether or not they're aware of it. Essentially "if you really want something and truly believe it's possible, you'll get it", but putting a lot of attention and thought onto something you don't want means you'll probably get that too.
Many modern proponents say that the Law of Attraction has roots in Quantum Physics.According to proponents of this law, thoughts have an energy which attracts whatever it is the person is thinking of.In order to control this energy to one's advantage, proponents state that people must practice four things:
1. Know what you want.
2. Ask the universe for it.
3. Feel and behave as if the object of your desire is on its way.
4. Be open to receiving it.
I have watched the dvd several times and have read things on the Internet and in a few books i recently bought. I learn something new about it every time.
The law attraction brings everything to our life, so even the bad comes. Everyone would like to keep the bad out, me included. And from what I have learned and experienced if you focus on what you dont want the universe is going to respond by giving it to you, I know this seems a bit unfair, but the universe does not recognize " I dont want to be late for work" it recognizes "late for work" and so it will be an you sure enough will be late for work. I never really realized how many negative thoughts go through ones mind in a day till I paid attention to how I was thinking about things.
A positive thought is 1000 times stronger and more effective then one negative thought. So when I do catch myself saying " I am so tired" or " I feel like crap" I stop yell at my inner self (lol) and think over and over " I feel great" or " I have so much energy". Then the universe will kick in and set those thoughts into motion.
One of my favorite quotes is from Mike Dooley... "Thoughts Become Things... Choose the Good Ones"
At first when you are re training your brain (and thats basically what you need to do) to think only in a positive way , it might seem exhausting, but it does get easier if you stick to it, and I promise you WILL notice a big difference. Start off with little things like being on time for something or waking up energized and happy. Have you ever heard the term "fake it till you make it"?
There are lots of small things that you can do to bring a positive change into your life, little things add up and before you know it you will see how much better it can be. Everyday and every moment you decide how your day will be. Get up in the morning and decide "this is going to be a great day, everything and anything will go perfect in every way" and smile and believe it. believing it and feeling it is so important combined with positive thinking and you are unstop able! Last xmas I made my Ya -Ya a positive affirmation jar, there are lots of lil papers folded in it that say nice things, positive thoughts, silly sayings just lil nice things in general, they pick one everyday and read it and if that is the only thing they can make themselves focus on that is positive well then its better then nothing. One of my Ya ya's loved hers so much that i often get request for new things for her to add to her jar for the month and I am more then happy to oblige! if that doesnt sound like your cup of tea and you would rather just tape notes all over the place with happy thought, well what ever works!
One of the teachers from The Secret said that the Universe is like a genie in a bottle "ask and you shall receive". Once you can grasp that idea and really begin to put it to use with just the small everyday things we can really move on to bigger and better things. like those checks in the mail woohoo!!
I hope this is not something that people will get all pumped up on and think yes I am going to do I am ging to change my life and be more positive and then a week, month or year down the road just let it tapper off and forget about it. If you really make an effort to be positive in all aspects of your life it will only get easier and better with time, we are the creators of our own destiny's why not make them the best and most wonderful that they can be, don't settle for anything less then the best we only have one life its best to make it the most awesome ride that we can create!!
